Update in the form of a children's book: This is Lindsay and Amanda. They live in a bedroom in a house with a man named George. This is George. George is funny. Lindsay and Amanda do not know what George really does, but he is gone a lot. Sometimes a parole officer calls for George's brother. But Lindsay and Amanda are not allowed to answer the phone. George's girlfriend does not know they are living with him. They are also not allowed to use the front door. The knob on the back door falls off when you close it. The knob on their bedroom door is non-existent. They sleep in the same bed because there is only one. They have a shelf in the kitchen full of pasta and Oreo cookies. This is Elizabeth. Elizabeth lives in the basement. She lives where Lindsay and Amanda are supposed to live. Elizabeth has a boyfriend named Will. This is Will. They have almost broken up 9 million times. They play backgammon on the back porch and use George's hot tub. And this is Sully. Sully is an old dog. She loves her family of George, Elizabeth, Will, Lindsay and Amanda because they all pet her. And sometimes when she stares at them very hard they give her something to eat.

Realization: If I don't remember what I learned this semester, and stay true to how I've grown and changed, then it was all for nothing. I am out of a dark spot. But if I don't recognize that leaving hurts, if I tune out emotion instead of genuinely processing it, to avoid pain, then I'm lying to myself.
