People always say, "There's no pleasing everyone." But of course, I just thought it was a saying, a cliche. No, no it isn't. In the past month, I have been called criticized for being too negative, too happy, too serious, too flippant, caring too much, caring too little.
Now, I do like to please people. I do want everyone to be happy. I value my friendships very highly. Nothing hurts me more than a close friend who attacks me on something that cuts deep.
But yet, they continue to do it. And for some reason, I don't get minor criticisms, but major ones: Overhaul your character now, or we will never speak to you again. Can I just add a small request? Can people please bring these things up before they turn into problems so large I can't possibly fix them?
